Not to be confused with his namesake, the future lord Fanhope, who had been knighted before 1388. John Cornwall of Kinlet was not knighted to 1399. Both of them were in Lancastrian service from the early 1390s at least. Of Kinlet, Shropshire. Going to Aquitain in 1394 in the company of John of Gaunt.
